Along with esports-related products, you will play an integral role in building community-centric features impacting millions of users every month.
The Ideal Candidate
Gfinity Digital Media is a rapidly growing network of publishing led websites that reach millions of readers every month. An ideal candidate has extensive experience working for publishing websites in the past in a small team of designers and engineers, with a strong desire to tackle difficult-to-solve problems. You’ve also spent some time keeping up with Google search algorithm updates to understand how they impact the search visibility of websites. You’re analytical and love measuring the performance, SEO, and revenue impacts of the changes rolled out to websites. While spending time writing front-ends in javascript languages such as Vue or React, you’re no stranger to PHP and MySQL and have likely built sites using both.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with our product team to elevate the design and functionality of our digital media properties
- Participate in product development discussions to help determine feature scope, prioritization, and feasibility
- Work closely with our design team to translate Figma designs into working, production-ready experiences
- Play a core role in the acquisition and migration of future digital media properties
- Develop customizations for Sanity.io CMS using React
- Write reusable libraries and modules for use across our digital network
- Optimize sites for performance and SEO
- Optimize delivery of in-page advertisements and media
- Mentor and help lead other developers
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related IT field, or equivalent work experience
- Extensive experience working with publishing-led websites
- Extensive working knowledge of the intricacies of technical SEO
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript, classes, and component composition
- Knowledge of PHP and MySql or other database technologies
- Expert knowledge of object-oriented principles
- Extensive experience working with Vue or other javascript frameworks
- Familiarity with Webpack and NPM
- Extensive knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Expertise in code versioning software such as GIT
- Fluency in English
- Motivated, eager to learn, and grow with the company
- Experience working independently
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team
