Great Question is hiring our first Account Executive to further our mission to democratize user research — helping companies get feedback from customers to ensure they build software that people want!


We're a well-funded seed-stage startup, backed by Y Combinator and Funders Club, looking for a customer- and process-obsessed sales hero to join our high performing, fast paced, and fully remote team.

This is a remote role open to anyone able to work within American time zones.





What you'll do


Reporting to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for helping us engage qualified prospects, demo the platform, provide technical assistance, negotiate contracts, and ultimately close new customers. 


It is a fast-paced role that fits high energy, driven, and smart sales people.


This’ll look like:

  • Working with our BDR team to engage with qualified prospects
  • Understanding the needs of prospects to tailor the demo &run a tight sales process
  • Negotiate contracts 
  • Achieving monthly &quarterly sales targets
  • Some prospecting for strategic accounts
  • Maintaining and updating our CRM
  • Joining customer onboarding and feedback calls to keep a close eye on the customer journey
  • Taking initiative to recommend process improvements, product iterations, and escalation needs for high-value prospects so we maintain product-market fit
  • Providing feedback to marketing and other teams re: wins/losses and processes
  • Collaborating with customer success to ensure full awareness of customer needs and goals

This team is in an exciting growth period as we focus on building out our customer lifecycle from scratch.





About You


We're looking for someone with proven experience in sales, preferably for an SMB or SaaS start-up.


You’ll need the following skill sets to be successful in this role:

  • 3+ years of account executive experience (sales hunting), preferably in B2B SaaS
  • You have advanced closing skills and are talented in establishing rapport with people from all walks of life
  • Self-driven - you don’t need anyone to motivate you
  • Resourceful - you can run through walls to find a way to achieve your goals
  • Exceptional communication skills - you’re confident talking to customers no matter the context
  • Impeccable time management and attention to detail
  • Experience using a CRM like Hubspot or Salesforce

As a fully remote team, we're looking for hands-on, experienced candidates with high EQ and innate hunger to succeed.

Candidates for this position can expect the hiring process to follow the order below. 


 


Please keep in mind that candidates can be declined from the position at any stage of the process.


Selected candidates will be invited to the following:

  • A video conference with the hiring manager. This takes 30 minutes and helps us understand what you’re looking for in your next role, and explain what this role entails.
  • A video conversation with our interim (fractional) CRO. This takes 45 minutes and helps us understand your sales experience, style, and skills. This takes from 45 min to an hour and allows your hiring manager to understand the similarities and differences of past roles you’ve had to the role we are considering for you
  • A mock Great Question customer call. The mock call itself is limited to 15 minutes. You are given a few minutes to ask any final questions before going into the mock call. After the mock call, we use the remainder of the half hour to understand feedback, how it felt to sell Great Question, and ask any questions we have remaining about your candidacy.
  • A synch with 2 of the folks you will be working with, likely our Head of Customer Success and our Head of Product Marketing. This will help us better understand you as an individual, as well as give you a chance to get a sense of the team you’ll be working with.
