About Community Sponsorship Hub

The Community Sponsorship Hub (CSH) is a dynamic organization dedicated to growing the role of communities in the protection, resettlement, and integration of refugees and other forcibly displaced people. Mobilizing civil society, and the public, private, and philanthropic sectors, and empowering them with resources and access, we shape and coordinate a community sponsorship system that leverages the power of welcoming Americans.

CSH operates in the United States (New York, Washington, D.C., and remote) as a project that is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. CSH is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. CSH is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, country of origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

About Private Sponsorship for Refugees
The Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) launched Welcome Corps, a Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program in January 2023 as part of the Administration’s efforts to expand community sponsorship in refugee resettlement. Community Sponsorship Hub and its consortium develop and implement the infrastructure to welcome and support thousands of refugees by equipping lawful permanent residents and citizens to welcome newcomers and experience the benefits of resettlement firsthand. The program allows Americans to consistently engage in sponsorship and meaningfully enhance integration outcomes for refugees. The PSR pilot program builds on previous successes in community sponsorship programs to expand resettlement capacity in the United States and diversify welcoming communities, bringing new perspectives, and increasing opportunities to take part in resettlement.

Position Overview

As the Salesforce Technical Architect at Community Sponsorship Hub, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Salesforce solutions for the Welcome Corps program. You will provide technical oversight of our Salesforce platform, assure the quality of our team of contractors, collaborate with internal users to understand business requirements, and work directly in the code base. The right person for the role is forward leaning, hands on, creative, highly technical, and has a “ship it” mindset.

Our current implementation features a highly customized Experience Site through which Welcome Corps sponsors submit applications to sponsor refugees. Internal teams review applications in Salesforce, and certified applications are sent to a government system through a custom-built API. A wide array of additional integrations and workflow enhancements are on the roadmap.

To date we have relied heavily on a team of external consultants. The Salesforce Technical Architect position represents a strategic decision by CSH to bring more technical competence in-house, to accelerate value delivery and manage our vendors more effectively. (In addition to this role and the CTO who has Salesforce experience, CSH also intends to hire a technical project manager and a system administrator.)

This is an opportunity to oversee, optimize, and mature a complex Salesforce implementation, while simultaneously developing team norms and culture for a new team. This position reports to our Chief Technology Officer.

  • Design and implement scalable and effective Salesforce solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to contractor development teams.
  • Architect solutions that align with best practices and industry standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party tools and integrations.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to learn and adopt new Salesforce features and technologies.
  • Ensure that the Salesforce solution adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Proactively identify and address technical challenges and issues.
  • Ensure that testing processes are thorough and effective.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components, Apex, and Visualforce.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to Racial Equity and Social Justice

CSH strongly encourages applications from individuals with lived experience in the communities we serve or whose identities are underrepresented in the immigration and protection profession.

Candidates must:
  • Have an unwavering commitment to advancing racial equity and ensuring this is reflected throughout the organization’s programs.
  • Recognize the intersection of race and economics in shaping education and employment opportunities.
  • Work to elevate and amplify the voices of the refugees and displaced persons we serve.
