Market America, a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer for our Shop.com IT environment.

Position Summary

As QA Automation Engineer, you will work under the guidance of Senior Test Automation Engineers and Leads. You will conduct thorough product testing using automation tools and techniques and ensure agreed upon quality standards are maintained in order to provide the highest quality software products to both external and internal customers. Works closely with the Automation Lead, QA Manager, and SCRUM team on understanding the business requirements and objectives relative to the desired functionality of products and applications. The QA Automation Engineer will evaluate and test new or modified software to determine that software meets user requirements and established quality standards using automated techniques and best practices.

This role supports function for the QA department and as an individual contributor that executes test plans;you will document software issues and enhancement requests and develops concise and detailed steps for duplication of the problem. Verifies resolved stories and bugs and maintains accurate status for such items entered in each project. Creates test plans with clearly defined test objectives. Contributes towards QA estimation, planning and scheduling process. Writes and performs detailed test cases, complex manual, automated, integration, and regression tests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including developing test plans, test cases, automation, and execution of test scripts
  • Analyzes test cases and functional specifications to determine best approach for automating scripts.
  • Create automated tests to augment manual testing.
  • Document software issues and enhancement requests and assists development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of the problem.
  • Verifies resolved Change Requests and maintains accurate status for Change Requests entered in each project.
  • Monitor progress against schedule. Assists fellow team members and customers with problem reporting and resolution while maintaining appropriate follow-up communications throughout the resolution process.
  • Ensure all software products meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized Q/A methodologies and best practices
  • Experience using JIRA, and TestLink, a plus.
  • Experience using Selenium WebDriver (AKA: Selenium 2) test automation tool preferred (or very strong desire and ability to learn).

Skills

Above moderate levels English reading comprehension, writing, and speaking, critical thinking, complex problem solving, analysis and evaluations, trouble shooting, judgment, active listening, mathematics, and programming.

2 plus years of experience in designing and developing automated testing and writing test plans and cases.

Knowledge and experience with JAVA and SQL in a technology environment.

Knowledge of Risk Assessment.

Able to write manual &automated test cases using open source tools such as Selenium (preferred) or similar

Experience with issue reporting &tracking tools such as JIRA (preferred)

Experience working on agile team (SCRUM team preferred)

Experience with development automated tests on Linux (Selenium WebDriver preferred)

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Math, or related field is preferred, or equivalent interactive educational/industry experience.

2 years’experience working in test automation/software development. Has a comprehensive understanding of the test cycles and processes.

Or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
