About BuildBook
BuildBook is a web and mobile collaboration hub for the residential construction industry. Our product enables builders and homeowners to collaborate more effectively, make better decisions, and simplify the construction process. Builders love us because we help them make more money while making their customers happy. Homeowners love us because we give them a feeling of control and help make renovation less stressful.
We are an early-stage, fully remote startup with people in Seattle, Atlanta, NYC and more. We are moving fast and are laser-focused on a specific customer and specific problem. We have a rock-solid MVP in market, early customers that are raving about us, and a big vision to solve a massive problem.
The opportunity at BuildBook to make a lasting impact is huge - the market in the US alone is $540B per year and is made up of over 550,000 small businesses focused on residential construction and remodeling.
Role
We are seeking developers with experience in startups and a love for building products. This will be one of the earliest technology hires, reporting directly to the CTO. We're looking for people who love to solve real-world problems and see their work in the hands of real customers. Your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the success of not just BuildBook, but also the small businesses that use BuildBook to run their businesses.
The ideal person for this role will be able to come in, hit the ground running, take ownership of one (or more) of our main platform feature sets and help us move it beyond the solid MVP stage. You'll need to work relatively independently, take feedback from everyone else in the comapny, mesh it with your own experience and opinions, and create an awesome product and experience for our customers.
Current Tech Stack
Our core tech stack includes React, React Native, React Native Web, Ruby on Rails, and Postgres. We are deployed on Heroku with various AWS and other services in place. We manage our backlog with Clubhouse and our code with Github. We're built on top of Stripe, and plan to make further use of its platform level features in future features.

You have the ability to wear multiple hats and/or have some relavant hidden talents or experience.
You have very strong communication skills and are well-versed at working remotely.
You're strongly self-motivated and can work with ambiguity sometimes.
