At Hotjar, we’re creating Product Experience Insights software for digital product teams. We help show how users behave and what they feel strongly about, so product teams can deliver real value, fast.

Reporting to Hotjar’s Privacy Lead and Data Protection Officer, you'll be a critical contributor to Hotjar’s Privacy Team working collaboratively and transparently with different departments and their teams at Hotjar to drive implementation and awareness of Hotjar’s privacy strategy and ensuring alignment across the organization.

You'll be part of a team that focuses ruthlessly on providing business-enabling privacy counsel to teams at Hotjar while supporting our customers in their privacy needs when using our software. You’ll be responsible for developing core components of Hotjar’s privacy strategy and for driving their adoption to increase both the transparency and accountability for personal data collection and processing and to enable the highest degree of protection for our customers and their end-users.

You will:

  • Work cross-functionally with Hotjar's legal and security teams and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and to evolve, implement and mature Hotjar's data privacy strategy and compliance program, including consent management and data retention, identifying data privacy compliance risks, and developing privacy awareness and training.
  • Manage the execution and continuous iteration, always looking at how we can do things better, of Hotjar's privacy strategy.
  • Execute day-to-day management and coordination of data privacy compliance, including managing DSAR processes, conducting research (to enable our Privacy team to be updated about new Regulations and Laws and planning changes where necessary), and responding to privacy inquiries or complaints.
  • Lead the ongoing development and implementation of data privacy compliance frameworks, operating models, and technologies.
  • Support the DPO and Information Security Leads with responding to privacy incidents.

Requirements:
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in data privacy, corporate compliance and governance, GDPR, CCPA and other privacy regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects, and aligning technology, business, and legal requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, law, computer science, or related field.
  • A business enablement approach to privacy matters.
  • Must put customers at the heart of everything - You will support external customers and internal team members, and work with our trusted external legal partners.
  • Desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative work environment, following Hotjar's company values, culture and ways of working.
  • Must submit to a background check confidentially processed by our third-party.

Compensation Range:
