Linux Developer To Work on Articles (remote, part-time)

Posted 3 years ago

We’re looking for a Linux Developer to work on creating technical articles.

First –you naturally need to be a developer working or actively involved in the Linux ecosystem. The articles will be code-centric, so being in the trenches and able to code is instrumental.

Second –you need a solid command of the English language.

Budget and Time Commitment

========================

Here are the typical budgets used by most authors:

Level 9

  • 1250+ words - 76$
  • 1500+ words - 81$
  • ...

Level 10

  • 1250+ words - 79$
  • 1500+ words - 84$
  • 1750+ words - 89$
  • ...

Note that, up to May 2021, due to COVID-19, we're working with an adjusted budget of -10% to -15% for all articles.

Once you get started, we have a lot more budget levels (the top level is 22), based on the quality of your writeups.

In terms of time commitment, a good target is one article every 2-3 weeks - but that’s very flexible (as long as our communication is good).

About the article (+ some examples)

=============================

We’ll usually pick articles out of the existing content calendar of the site. You can also suggest your own topics as well (and get an additional compensation for that).

Here are a few examples of topics:

  • Guide to Linux jq Command for JSON Processing
  • How Long a Linux Process Has Been Running
  • How to Use Command Line Arguments in a Bash Script

And here's a few finished article examples:
