What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
The VMware Cloud Foundation team in Sofia is expanding and we are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineers / Staff, Architect with passion for cloud, scale and simplicity for the user. Our mission is to make private clouds as ubiquitous and easy to consume as the public clouds and enable workloads on any cloud, while providing better cost, performance and stability. Focus areas include workload domains and availability zones, declarative infrastructure, monitoring and scaling, cross-site networking, security, lifecycle management, multi-zone operations. As the product evolves, so does its architecture too. It is measured against the Amazons and the Googles of the day.
Success in the Role: What will you face?
You will apply your experience, knowledge and skills to:
- Contribute to the product roadmap and architecture evolution
- Continuously improve the processes and the way we build our software
- Software design, architecture, coding, CI/CD and development process
- Java, Python or related programming skills
- Positive energy, drive and innovation
- Specific technologies, like Spring, Kubernetes, distributed systems, etc are, of course, a great help
- Develop team talent, mentor and coach more junior team members
- Learn and develop yourself
What type of work will you be doing?
You will be innovating with product management, customers and other senior engineers in the global team to define features and the product roadmap, design, work on and lead the implementation of features, including leading project teams and global initiatives, architecture evolution, contribute to the CI/CD and developing the more junior talent. And more! You will also grow professionally, learn from and work with top world-class engineers, get exposed and learn most actual technologies.
