Lead DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer - remote

You will be responsible for ensuring continual operation of Ascendify's cloud infrastructure including maintaining security, reliability and monitoring. You will work with the senior technical team to improve the company’s overall systems architecture and tooling and report directly to the VP Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain a scalable system infrastructure within Amazon Web Services EC2
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis when something goes wrong, recommending or implementing a mitigating solution
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to dive into troubleshooting when needed
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources
- Manage all company releases and deployments, ensuring quality releases
- Fill out and submit answers to security RFP’s and oversee/manage SOC2 and other security audits including annual internal audits of our backup/failover systems
- Act as security officer of company and plan/hold quarterly meetings
- You will take part in 24x7 on-call rotation
- Assist with internal IT support tasks for internal company users, developers and infrastructure
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in tools/infrastructure/DevOps role
- 1+ years experience maintaining and deploying scalable cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Self-disciplined, self-sufficient and goals-driven with excellent communication skills working as a remote employee from home
- Solid grounding in network fundamentals and systems architecture, including load balancers, firewalls, WAF, CDN.
- An understanding of security concepts (Access Control, Vulnerability Management, Encryption)
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible , Puppet or Chef
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Programming experience in at least one object-oriented language such i.e. Python
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Demonstrated Linux systems knowledge, along with Bash
- Data systems administration: PostgreSQL, Elastic Search
- Demonstrated experience working with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Nagios, Sensu, etc)
- Some experience with infrastructure orchestration tools i.e. Terraform, Kubernets or willingness to learn

Scala, PHP, Python, ELK stack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Nagios, SOC2, Security event management and other security tools
