Position: Sr. or Lead Data Engineer
HQ: Los Angeles, CA but this is a FULLY REMOTE opportunity - anywhere in the U.S. or Canada
Base Salary: $140k - $190k (Highly dependent on level of experience)

The Sr. / Lead Data Engineer is responsible for architecting, building and supporting the data and analytic technologies that support Talent Systems portfolio of applications and services. The Lead Data Engineer’s primary focus is expanding and optimizing data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for Talent System’s cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor and maintain structured and unstructured data systems across all of Talent System’s platforms
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Work closely with the Information Security Team to ensure security across multiple product lines, engineering teams and cloud providers
  • Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and enabling insight that can empower better decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business data continuity in the event of a disaster manager and optimize database updates to ensure zero downtime data schema updates

Ideal experience we looking for:

  • Strong experience with cloud database systems such as Aurora, DynamoDB and Elasticsearch
  • Experience working with AWS services and supporting components such as IAM, security groups and networking
  • Strong understanding of SQL query optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience managing and maintaining PostgreSQL, MySQL and MSSQL databases
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools such as Solarwinds
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, BI and ETL tools and principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
