We are looking for an experienced Lead Application Developer to join Zenda Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled engineer who is passionate about taking personal accountability to drive application services. You will be working alongside experienced team members to help launch new products.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborating with the product and design team to create innovative app experiences
- Work with front-end developers (iOS, Android and React/Web) to understand their unique constraints, propose design and APIs to achieve consistent implementation across backend stack
- Drive technology and design decisions to deliver fast, usable and secure applications at scale
- Proactively identify improvements to our front-end frameworks, performance, and development processes, then drive the implementation using code and APIs
- Be an advocate on frontend best practices and adoption of new technologies
- Ensure feature quality through extensive testing (unit, integration, functional, performance and regression) with a focus towards automation
- Implement continuous integration and deployment, with a focus towards automation
- Collaborate across teams on priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years shipping software products with at least two years of experience developing API-first mission critical apps on AWS (or similar public cloud) infrastructure
- Experience with user-interface design and developing front-end using modern frameworks and libraries (Nextjs/React, iOS, or Android)
- Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs, preferably using Amazon AWS infrastructure
- Experience with serverless design pattern, preferably using AWS Lambda and Step Functions
- Deep understanding of Javascript data structures and design patterns
- Deep understanding of web components (HTTP/2, JSON, HTML5, CSS3)
- Deep understanding of backend components such as Nodejs, ORM frameworks, Caching and API Gateway
- Track record of delivering applications that require high availability, security, concurrency, regulatory compliance and scalability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Nice to have: Infrastructure as a code (Terraform, CloudFormation), TypeScript and GraphQL
