HR Assistant - remote

We are a fully remote company based in Canada and have a very successful SaaS product, which is now over 10 years old! We have experienced significant year-over-year growth and have increased our team size by over 200% in the past year. We are looking to continue this growth by adding talented people, specifically in the field of engineering and marketing.

🇨🇦 This position is 100% remote and only eligible for those who are authorized to work in Canada.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records and documentation

  • Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, absences, bonus etc

  • Handle vacation requests while keeping the manager informed

  • Conduct or assist with new hire Orientation &Offboarding

  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events &holiday parties

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department

  • Perform IT tasks such as setting up and deactivating the accounts

  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process etc;refer more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job requirements

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and diplomacy

  • Hands on experience with HRIS

  • Basic knowledge of labor laws

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
