Given the great success of A5 Labs, we are now looking to appoint a Head of CloudOps to help our Engineering Team and Company scale up at speed. We are seeking a self-starter, who is experienced in evaluating the needs of our fast-growing company and can shape and grow our CloudOps capabilities in line with the business growth.
As the Head of Cloud Operations (CloudOps) at A5 Labs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and secure operation of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our cloud environment, including architecture design, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and security.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Oversee the provisioning, scaling, and optimization of cloud resources to support our poker platform's performance and scalability requirements.
Implement best practices for cloud resource management, cost optimization, and capacity planning.
- System Reliability and Performance:
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of our cloud-based systems through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Implement robust disaster recovery and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime and data loss.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.
- Security and Compliance:
Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard our cloud infrastructure and sensitive data.
Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) related to data privacy and security.
- Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing CloudOps team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the CloudOps team.
Define clear goals and performance metrics for the team, and regularly assess and optimize team performance.
- Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with cloud service providers, technology vendors, and third-party partners, ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
Evaluate new cloud technologies and services, and make recommendations for adoption based on business needs and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience of 7-10 years in cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and managing highly available, scalable, and secure cloud architectures.
- Strong expertise in cloud automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
