Job Description
With tens of thousands of applicants each month, Microverse is looking for a Head of Admissions to own our entire admissions pipeline from initial sign-up to student onboarding.
The purpose of the Admissions team is threefold: (1) admitting students that will succeed in our program, (2) improving the conversion rate of those qualified applicants, and (3) supporting all our applicants throughout their application process. As the Head of Admissions, you will coordinate the people and operations required to fulfill the team’s purpose.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in program operations or program management, in the context of an admissions or enrollment pipeline.
If you enjoy managing programs, leveraging product solutions to drive scalability, digging into data to drive improvements, and working in a high-paced startup environment, then this job is perfect for you.
As Head of Admissions, you will report directly to the Program Director, who oversees all operations for the Full-Stack Software Development Program. You will directly manage one person (the Applicant Success Lead) who, in turn, manages a growing team of three. You will also work closely with Marketing, Product, and the Head of the Core Program.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end admissions operations and drive improvements for the Full-Stack Software Development Program.
- Define, forecast, take action, and build/share weekly reports of our OKRs and KPIs (e.g., monthly enrollments, quality of enrollments, conversion rates)
- Work closely with Marketing to ensure the right quality and quantity of top-of-funnel applicants.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the rest of the Program Leadership team (Core Program, Career Services, Student Payments) and develop strong data-driven feedback loops.
- Define and prioritize features and improvement projects with the Product Development team to optimize and scale the Admissions process.
- Query data to identify and address operational inefficiencies and applicant pain points.
- Develop and nurture an applicant-to-business feedback loop to continuously improve the Admissions journey.
- Manage the people responsible for admissions operations, such as the Applicant Success team.
Experience &Skills Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in program or operations management in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing application, enrollment, or onboarding pipelines.
- Data analysis skills to track the performance towards achieving operational KPIs.
- Experience as a team leader, including nurturing team development and driving performance management.
- Capacity to quickly master no-code/SaaS tools (e.g., Airtable, Zapier).
- Self-leadership to accomplish goals without much direction (”manager of one”).
- High empathy for working with people from different countries and cultures.
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment—we’re a startup, so change and ambiguity are certainties, not possibilities.
- Eager to experiment and learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally, you also...
- Have experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment.
- Are based in Africa, Europe, or the east coast of the Americas (for max. timezone overlap with the rest of the team).
- Consider yourself to be a global citizen and are passionate about making opportunities more equally distributed around the world.
