We are looking for a talented Front-End Web Developer and Designer to join our growing team in a full-time capacity. You have the creativity and motivation to design and develop cutting edge user interfaces and solutions. 

Important: You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. You must not be an international student or worker. 

Remote Team 
Our team works entirely remotely in a distributed environment, you won’t need to move or commute to work at Deploy Solutions. 

You should be setup with a reasonably distraction-free environment, and a laptop or home computer with a good internet connection. We will provide you with a second computer monitor and a cloud-hosted virtual desktop which will include all the tools you need to get working right away. 

We operate using Agile sprints and hold daily scrums each morning with an end-of-day catch-up meeting. Your work day will be flexible but our core hours are generally from 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time Zone. We will provide mentors and plenty of support and guidance to ensure you meet your objectives. 

Responsibilities 
  • Take an active role to define, validate and implement reusable front-end components as part of a larger Design System. 
  • Translate UI/UX wireframe and prototype workflows into code that meets functional requirements and is near pixel perfect. 
  • Use your Angular or React experience to develop engaging user features, modules and experiences. 
  • Optimize applications and system components for security, speed and scalability
  • Use your excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with other team members to deliver industry transforming solutions

Skills and Qualifications

Important: You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. You must not be an international student or worker. 
  • You have the ability to quickly learn new concepts, languages and tools. At Deploy Solutions we believe in expanding your knowledge with the help of mentors. 
  • You understand the importance of the Design Process and have learned about Design Systems. 
  • You have a good understanding of design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch or similar tools. 
  • You have good knowledge of the Photoshop Creative Suite or other image authoring tools in order to crop, resize or perform small adjustments on images. 
  • A proficient understanding of HTML, XML, and CSS. 
  • A proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery. 
  • A proficient understanding of React or Angular. 
  • A proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and the ability to work around them. 
  • A proficient understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX 
  • A proficient understanding of Git and GitHub. 
  • You can demonstrate applied knowledge of UX related tasks;research, user feedback, personas, user testing, brainstorming, wire-framing, etc. 
Nice-to-haves (but not required) 

  • Recent graduate (the last 3 years) from a Canadian academic institution 
  • A history of Open Source project contributions is highly regarded! 
  • Good understanding of Typescript. 
  • Good understanding of Node.js. 
  • Good understanding of Vue. 
  • Experience building applications with MapBox, Google Maps, or other geospatial toolsets. 
  • Basic understanding of SASS (CSS-preprocessor) is desirable but not required.
