Field Operations Engineer - remote

Revl makes auto-editing software and smart action cameras. Our customers are sky diving operations, big auto industry players, mountain coasters, and zip line operators. What they all have in common is that they want to use our cameras to capture their client's experiences and then use our software to automatically turn all that footage into a great final edited video that they can sell to their customers. Our auto editing software is fast: a final rendered video is ready minutes after the client has completed the experience! You can see our complete system in action here: https://youtu.be/8RmMQafi9Us.

We are a distributed team so you can be located anywhere. Our main office is a beautiful, commuter friendly space in SoMa San Francisco, where we also offer daily catered lunches for all local employees. We are currently looking for a remote engineer in EST to balance out our availability for our quickly growing client base.

Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with public facing support
  • Experience interfacing with customers for technical products
  • Linux (bash, systemd, iptables, cron, etc.)
  • Docker (networking, logging, etc.)
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ect.)
Preferred but not necessary:
  • Programming background in any language
  • Video editing skills
  • A love of action sports
  • Knowledge of 3D printing

Duties include onsite and remote installations, system updates and maintenance, providing support for customers, working with the software engineering team to identify and resolve potential issues, and providing training for new customers. Many of our installations are done onsite. This means that you will sometimes be overseas for up to several weeks at a time. As the primary technical point of contact for out customers, strong communication skills are very important.
