Engineering Manager - remote

Carb Manager is looking for an exceptional engineering manager to lead our development team of 8 full-stack devs. This role requires a unique mix of technical leadership, people management, and process development.

People Management:

  • Manage the developers, including providing coaching and mentoring, periodic 1:1s, and more formal feedback
  • Set expectations, measure results, and maintain a feedback cycle
  • Provide guidance with career development

Process Management:

  • Work with the product and marketing teams to develop the product roadmap, then break it out into actionable tasks
  • Provide detailed technical specs, hold planning meetings, and assign tasks to developers
  • Track progress, and course correct as needed
  • Run our stand-up meetings and ensure that everyone has the information they need to succeed
  • Assume the role of unblocker-in-chief

Technical Leadership:

  • Be the principal software architect
  • Make strategic technical decisions about technologies to adopt (or remove)
  • Work with the developers to re/architect the frontend and backend codebase
  • Set and document coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews. And, time permitting, ship code yourself. :)
