We’ve created a unique puzzle-based screening platform that evaluates the real-world skills security analysts need to succeed. Our assessments help hiring managers identify the best talent by giving every candidate a chance to show what they can do. The cybersecurity industry is growing, and companies need to build better, more diverse teams faster. They can no longer rely on outdated screening processes and metrics like certifications to find the best talent. At Enigma, we believe that what you can do is more important than your background, and our platform gives every candidate the chance to demonstrate their skills.
And screening is just the start. Using our assessment data, we are building The Enigma Community -- the most comprehensive database of cyber talent. Ultimately, we aim to become the source of truth for professionals to showcase their skills (think: LinkedIn for cybersecurity).

What’s the role?
We’re looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Sales to help lead and grow our sales efforts. You’ll be our first sales hire and ultimately, we expect this person to become a leader within the company.
Responsibilities
- run the full sales cycle from lead to close
- test hypotheses as the company constantly evolves to establish best practices and a repeatable playbook
- document the processes used to manage sales end to end in the sales cycles
- pick up the phone, cold call and write scripts for yourself and future hires
- create efficiencies and use tools to reduce the busy work of outreach
- assist in developing and preparing forecasts and KPI reporting for the sales team, organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning
- work closely with product, leadership, and customers to provide insight and help improve the product
- define the vision of the sales team hiring strategy, execute and help ensure each new sales hire succeeds
- remaining upbeat in the face of micro-failures (there will be many at this stage of a startup)
You have
- experience as a Sales Representative, Account Executive or similar position
- proven track record in building and managing a pipeline of new business
- success in a fast-changing environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions
- ability to research and ‘figure it out’ with little direction
- excellent selling, negotiation, prioritization, time management and communication skills
- skilled at relationship management and openness to feedback
- ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
Compensation
Salary structure: 50% base salary, 50% commission
Base salary range: $75K - $90K
Equity: We have reserved a large chunk of equity for the right founding team members

As a seed stage startup we do not have all of our benefits in place yet. We’re actively working on implementing full medical, dental, vision, and 401K by Q2 2022 (or sooner).
