DevOps, Sr Manager - remote

We are looking for a DevOps leader passionate about automation and building high performing teams. Experience with cloud architecture, cloud security, continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and a strong operational background are all a must. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of DevOps engineers responsible for our Cloud infrastructure, this includes multiple AWS and Heroku environments
  • Work with Consumer Engineering and Product teams during quarterly planning sessions to estimate the work on the DevOps team
  • Help establish clear communication and collaboration patterns between different teams
  • Work with Project Managers and Engineering leadership to prioritize work during sprint planning and daily standups
  • Drive cloud resource optimization and cost reduction for our cloud infrastructures
  • Apply your understanding of DevOps and software engineering best practices to influence design and implementation approaches and solutions
  • Build high-performing teams and lead the team to embrace new ideas that produce outstanding results for customers
  • Create a culture of transparency, ownership, collaboration, and accountability
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with partners and stakeholders across the business
  • Observability and measurement: define data collection methods to provide developer and visibility into system performance. Participate in measurement of system performance and SLA targets
  • Collaborate with customers, partners and vendors when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • Highly proficient with DevOps concepts and technologies
  • Experience managing global teams
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef, CloudFormation, SaltStack, Terraform)
  • Programming ability in at least one language (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
  • Strong management skills and ability to dive into technical details, as needed
  • Experience with Cloud services (AWS preferred)
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships between functional teams
  • Experience in a 24/7 environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with Terraform and SaltStack
  • Experience with ECS or EKS
  • Experience CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with AWS Services such as SNS, SQS, RDS, API Gateway, Kinesis, etc.
  • Experience with persistent, distributed data stores (e.g., S3, HDFS, Cassandra)
  • Experience with Direct to Consumer solutions
  • Experience with HIPAA compliance or HITRUST certification
