DevOps Engineer - remote

Prokeep is seeking a DevOps engineer to become part of our Engineering and QA teams to support our messaging platform that is experiencing rapid growth in the construction industry. This engineer will work on building and supporting new development tools and platforms, CI (we use GitLab), Cloud Engineering and Systems, as well as helping us with build and release processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who wants to grow with an established and profitable startup company.

Prokeep is a software company that has developed a messaging platform for the $100+ billion wholesale distribution market (i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc). We are post product, post revenue, and growing fast in the US and Canada.

Requirements

We are looking for a Devops engineer to help us with a range of exciting new projects as we grow in our capacity and maturity as a software engineering team. You don’t have to be an expert with all the tools in our stack, but an interest in working on projects at all levels of the stack will be helpful as we expand the breadth of our platform. You should have strong opinions about tools and architecture but should also be able to explain those opinions persuasively, not abrasively. You should take pride in writing performant, logically structured, readable code, but also be pragmatic enough to realize that sometimes shipped projects or systems are better than perfect projects or systems.

Ideal Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years experience working as a Devops engineer.
  • Shell scripting/build scripting
  • CI experience (GitLab a +)
  • Docker Docker Docker !
  • AWS experience - ECS ++, lambda, cloudformation
  • npm/react ecosystem (webpack, babel)
  • Elixir/Erlang or willing to learn Elixir devops (we know this is rare but a huge plus)
  • Experience working in a geographically distributed team.
  • Remote experience and effective interaction/communication skills.
  • Selenium grid, Testrail, AWS Canary (selenium on lambda)

Working Relationship

This is a full-time salaried position starting immediately. You will work with the existing development team to build new features and fix bugs in our product.This is a remote work opportunity, but you should be able to work core hours in U.S. pacific time.
