Job Summary:

The Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for unlocking and driving growth in Retail, helping Impossible reach its full potential in Grocery, Mass, Club and Natural channels. As a key partner to the Sales team, this individual will lead and develop customer marketing strategies, tactics and campaigns to elevate customer engagement with the Impossible brand and our products with the goal of driving consumer conversion. The Retail Marketing Manager will own retailer media, media planning, couponing and other shopper agency relationships. The Retail Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Sales Strategy, Customer Marketing and Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

    • Lead in-depth marketing relationships with our largest retail customers, developing robust plans to drive growth and demand of Impossible products.
    • Develop turnkey programs and assets for regional and wholesale customers to leverage.
    • Drive awareness, trial and sales growth targets on both new and existing SKUs in partnership with the Retail Sales team.
    • Build and manage all retail marketing plans optimized for a retailer’s shopper, capabilities, and category dynamics that are within budget parameters and that deliver against targets.
    • Set clear objectives for each retail launch, establishing test &learns to prove impact and measuring success aligned with the overall company growth targets and objectives
    • Be the marketing leader and a critical partner to the sales team and your customer, driving engagement and support with these partners.
    • Lead agency relationships to execute retail marketing plans and track deployment of marketing investments to ensure efficient and effective spending against targets.
    • Integrate consumer learning, brand analysis, category understanding, marketplace dynamics, competitive activity, brand positioning, and product life cycle information to drive retail recommendations and plans.
    • Lead analysis and reporting of retail marketing campaigns and performance to inform planning and to brief executive level audiences, including recommendations on how to improve effectiveness in future marketing initiatives.
    • Balance needs across multi-segmented business, prioritizing resources against largest and highest ROI initiatives.
    • Ensure all partner creative assets and messaging uphold our Brand Guidelines and stay true to our Impossible Foods brand and mission.
    • Leverage available data &insights to identify channel and customer opportunities, and to develop strategies to drive incremental growth
    • Conduct analyses and reporting on the performance of marketing campaigns to measure return on investment / and identify standard processes for future programs
    • Support Retail industry and customer events (in conjunction with our events marketing team), helping generate more demand for our products with new customers.
    • Create periodic marketing investment and performance recaps for share out with cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:

    • 7-10 years of experience in retail marketing with a CPG, consumer or relevant brand
    • Demonstrated experience marketing food/CPG products to a diverse set of channels and consumers, including traditional Grocery, Mass, Club and more
    • Experience working with national retailer media teams
    • A genuine interest in and passion for Impossible Foods’ mission
    • Success leading external partners including agencies and vendors, delivering clear briefs and feedback
    • Highly collaborative approach with ability to partner with cross functional partners
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
    • A self-starter mentality with an exceptionally high quality bar
    • Ability to make complex concepts easily understandable
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Intellectual curiosity and an appetite to continuously improve and learn (growth mindset)
    • Ability to proactively develop marketing plans
    • Strong ability to prioritize
    • Ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working for a high growth brand
    • Understanding of finance, accounting and budgeting principles

$118,400 –$142,080 a year

This U.S. based, full-time position offers the above base salary range + equity + benefits + bonus plan. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
