We are looking for an experienced Content Operations Strategist who is obsessed with communicating clearly and possesses a deep expertise with building systems and processes, working with editorial and technical teams taking content from concept to publishing. This role ensures that business requirements, content authoring and workflow, and implementation decisions come together in a usable, useful system.

The Communications and Content Practice recognizes and values all facets of content strategy, understanding that each component is integral in creating an exceptional content experience and helping a message break through and is organized into 3 areas of expertise: Front-end content strategy (messaging, narrative development, brand storytelling and brand voice), Back-end content strategy (content operations, migrations, taxonomies, and metadata), and Copywriting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a foundational understanding of the current state of digital content through content inventory and audit
  • Successfully guide clients from current state to future state of the digital experience
  • Work with client content creators to improve their user experience and communicate the project roadmap with them
  • Creation of taxonomy, metadata, migration strategy, content models, and governance plans
  • Work closely with the development team on identifying and managing automated content migrations
  • QA and manually adjust migrated content as required
  • Apply and educate clients and Phase2 teams on PLAIN language and other digital content best practices
  • Develop strategies for reusable content, leveraging CMS ability to create once and publish everywhere
  • Create infrastructure and content production plans so that clients and internal teams can create high volume of content across an organization
  • Collaborate with other practice areas including development, UX, design, and in order to define content types and templates and permissions
  • Advocate for users and content managers, to assure the system is developed in a way that meets both internal and external needs 
  • Interview key stakeholders to surface business goals
  • Work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at once
  • Meet strict deadlines
  • Apply industry-specific compliance standards and regulation to content production planning
  • Ability to travel (10-15%)
You must have experience that includes: 
  • 5+ years digital communications or content strategy experience
  • Deep understanding of content management systems, specifically Drupal
  • Experience across communication channels with deep expertise in digital (website, social, app, voice) 
  • A sophisticated appreciation of the intersection of content, design, and UX and the part each play in communicating effectively
  • Experience contributing to content presentations and workshops 
  • Prior agency experience
  • Strong work ethic
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Experience in healthcare and government verticals 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A passion for process and an understanding of what it takes to go from idea to reality 
  • Ability to perform product owner and project management duties in an Agile environment
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
