C++ Developer
VarSome.com is the world’s prime reference for genetic variant interpretation. With over 500 citations in scientific papers and 300K users, we are seeking to bring together all human expertise in molecular genetics and make it available to doctors and researchers worldwide to improve the lives of their patients.
As a competent C++ developer with practical experience of the STL, smart pointers, lambdas etc. you will be joining our agile development team based in central Athens, to work on our core technology stack, with the option to work from home most days of the week. We have employees distributed across Europe and the US, a good level of English is required.
Your focus will be to help develop the core Linux back-end technology that gives us a critical edge over our competitors, both for its performance and the quality of the genetic analysis it enables. We are a high-tech company with highly bespoke products deployed both internally and in the cloud, you will become familiar with many high-performance technologies, including cloud compute, distributed in-memory caches, databases, and machine-learning techniques.
Working within a small team of experienced C++ developers, you will be mentored and coached to achieve the high degree of competence required for the job. Your role will include participating in code reviews, discussions on system architecture, automating critical tests, optimising performance, writing reports, and developing custom functionality for clients - with full responsibility for the quality of your work and deliverables. Whatever your level of technical experience, we will push you!
