Apostrophe.xyz is on the hunt for a Business Development person. You’re curious, confident, self-aware, and you make it y(our) business to know about emerging markets and brands. You understand brands, business and funnels. You’re so on-point that it’s annoying. You know how to spot an opportunity. And most importantly, you know how to keep the momentum going until the deal is closed. In saying that, no one would ever call you a salesperson. You’re far too likeable.

Day-to-day, you will:
  • research emerging markets(those that are creating the future we want to see)
  • run new business calls in the US and surrounding areas
  • be a stickler for inputting data into our CRM system
  • find opportunities within our pillars(D2C and beyond)
  • put together quotes using an intuitive system
  • focus on profit margins and future opportunities with the same client
  • report back to the management team(based in Australia)
  • email, email, email.

As a person, you are:

  • a clear communicator – you know how to ask for what you need 
  • confident and charismatic – you are naturally geared toward making suggestions
  • passionate about supporting brands and businesses that are creating the future we want to see
  • diligent – you know how to build trust and credibility across seas
  • competitive, positive and future-focussed
  • committed to yourself and the task at hand
  • a fast learner.

You’ll need to have:
  • a minimum of two years in a new business role
  • proven experience in reaching ambitious financial goals
  • intimate knowledge of CRM systems
  • knowledge of the branding process – we work with direct clients most of the time, but there has been plenty of opportunity in partnering with design, branding and digital agencies
  • excellent communication skills
  • exposure to copywriting and strategy – whether in agencies(design, digital, branding, advertising or similar) or client-side in marketing or commercial departments.

3/ Bonsoy – crafting comms for Australia’s favourite soy milk.
4/ Peak – strategy, branding and communication for the next wave of mood-based drinks.
5/ Abodu – strategy and communication for prefab modular homes, designed to support the housing shortage in San Francisco and surrounding areas.
6/ NDA – strategy and communication for the future of finance. Blockchain tech. Decentralised finance for the people.
