SUMMARY
We are Pixellu, a software company on a mission to simplify professional photographers’ lives. We are seeking a Beat-Matching Specialist to join our team. This is a temporary position that will last approximately 3 months.

🚀 ABOUT PIXELLU
At Pixellu, we know professional photographers are frustrated with all of the tedious work required to run a successful photography business. Many get so overwhelmed, they end up quitting on their dream of having a photography career. That is why we create easy-to-use, time-saving software that simplifies photographers’ lives, so that they can spend less time in front of the computer and get back to doing what they love.

Pixellu was co-founded in 2010 by two wedding photographers. Faced with the challenges of long hours and endless tasks, we began asking ourselves, “How can we save valuable time, make more money, and get our lives back?” Our answer was technology. We started Pixellu with the idea that we could make money by providing an honest service that helped photographers save time and live more fulfilling lives. We believed that, by focusing on a great product and great service, we could build a business that not only does good, but also does well.

Today, we are a team of 30 team members spread across 10 countries, serving tens of thousands of photographers in over 100 countries.

💻 ABOUT THE JOB
Among the software that Pixellu offers is SmartSlides, a tool enabling photographers to create beautiful, music-driven slideshows for their wedding, event, or portrait clients.

When a user creates a slideshow they choose a song, then uploads the images they want in the slideshow. The slide duration will automatically be calculated for them by dividing the duration of the song by the number of images.

With an option called Beat-Matching, users can choose to have the images synchronized to the music so that the images change with the beat. Users can choose a slow version, where the images are displayed for a longer duration, or an uptempo version, where the images are seen for a shorter duration.

The process of adding songs to the SmartSlides music library and getting them to a state where our users can choose to use Beat-Matching is a 3-step process that involves intensive data wrangling, trimming and fading audio files, and then building the Slow and Uptempo maps in Adobe Premiere.

We are looking for someone to take the raw audio files and data from our music library providers and follow a step-by-step process to prepare songs so they can be added to our SmartSlides library. The end result will mean giving our users access to beautifully beat-matched slideshows.
