About the role

Gordian Software is hiring full stack software engineers. We are open to various levels of seniority. Most of our work is backend. Our stack uses Python, Flask, React and Postgres. We’re open to candidates proficient in any programming language and believe the right candidate can pick up Python quickly.

You’ll be working with extremely capable engineers, including former founders, who understand the business context for every product and feature that we ship. We expect everyone on the team to be capable of making good choices and give wide latitude for our engineers to make decisions while executing on what customers need. This means you’ll be excited to release frequently and take total ownership of your code from writing to testing to deployment.

Requirements

We base our requirements on our 3 core values: Freedom, Impact, Ownership

Freedom - You should be comfortable in fast paced and rapidly changing environments. You should be able to exercise autonomy rather than needing detailed direction.

Impact - This is a software engineering role. You should be capable of writing high quality code to solve business problems. We look for at least 1 year of professional experience in some type of business venture (i.e. a company, your own startup, or a project with live users). We value experience and aptitude over formal qualifications and education;our team ranges from self-taught hackers to computer science PhDs.

Ownership - You should be proactive and do whatever you think is necessary for the team to achieve our goal. If you want to avoid things that are “not my job”, this role is not a good fit.
