Interior Define is seeking a Backend Engineer to play a key role in expanding our brand story by joining our team. We are looking for a passionate individual who is excited to grow, innovate and disrupt the home furnishings industry through a transformative experience.
The problems we solve on the engineering team span eCommerce, supply chain/fulfillment and data analysis. This individual will be responsible for backend development on one of our scrum teams. Based on the individuals background and experience they will either join our e-commerce scrum team or our fulfillment team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Sr Director of Engineering and other developers on the full application lifecycle
Write, test, maintain, and document clean, manageable and scalable code
Partner with Front End developers, product managers and product designers to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translating learnings into an effective technical solution
Map integrations between company and third party applications
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is excited about growth with the following credentials:
You have 3+ years of professional experience in a collaborative team setting
Experience as a member of agile teams collaborating with other developers, product managers and designers.
Experience working successfully in a remote environment or with some remote team members is a plus.
PHP Development Skills
Exposure to E-Commerce principles
Understanding of OOP
Fluency in modern Javascript frameworks
Experience architecting database schemas and APIs
Must be a strong communicator able to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines
A creative problem-solver and great communicator—in person, over email, Slack, Trello, Google Docs
Startup experience, ideally in an e-commerce environment
Understand the importance of user centered design Experience using project management tools like Jira, Trello, Asana
Great to have
Magento experience Experience with an MVC like Laravel Experience with hosting environments (AWS, Rackspace, etc.) Experience with Shopify or any other popular ecommerce platform Understand the pros and cons of Service Oriented Architecture Experience with headless e-commerce setups Passion or curiosity for interior design and furniture
