TaxJar’s remote-only team of 200+ people is growing quickly. We have two immediate openings on the Filing Resolutions Team for those who want to help us make e-commerce easier for everyone.
As an AutoFile Manager on the Filing Operations team, you will coach a high-performing group of AutoFile Specialists while working with leadership to continue to plan for, strategize and shape the team for the future.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Filing Operations team of core filers and oversee the current filing queues for assigned region of states
- Support career development and provide timely feedback to team by conducting regular 1:1s, completing performance reviews and handling compensation/hiring
- Coordinate/delegate cross team efforts to account for all aspects relating to changes in filing processes
- Stay up-to-date with operational as well as State Department of Revenue changes impacting sales and use tax return filing
- Serve as the point of contact for Filing Operations for cross team conversations
- Act as a liaison with the Enablement AutoFile Trainers for onboarding/training and the Special Ops leadership for current filing issues
- Maintain high level team vision and be responsible for setting and exceeding performance-based, financial-based and AutoFile product-based goals
- Contribute to AutoFile strategy discussions
- Schedule, plan and lead Filing Operations Team meetings
- Communicate effectively with teammates in a fast-paced environment
- Suggest improvements that increase the team’s efficiency and accuracy
- Be willing to jump in and help the team however needed
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year leadership experience.
- Experience building and leading a high-performing operations team that is focused on production, growth and efficiency
- Able to prioritize team goals and adapt to changes that come up while working to meet those goals in a fast-paced environment
- Highly collaborative and excel at building cross team relationships
- Meticulously organized and able to follow key quality control processes
- Excellent deadline and workload management skills, ability to prioritize/de-prioritize tasks as they arise
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong spreadsheet skills (Sheets/Excel/Numbers)
- Hungry, reliable, enthusiastic, empathetic, and humble (no egos, please)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Sales and use tax experience
- Strong tax experience, accounting experience, legal experience, or customer service experience
- Experience handling, reviewing, and documenting state changes
- Experience with filing state returns
