About Lana

In Lana we want to provide accessible financial services through technology to traditionally underserved customers in LATAM, starting with gig-economy workers.

To do so, we have created a platform with an app that allows users to get access to tailored-made financial services in one single place and take control of their money to do great things with it.

Lana is currently operating in Mexico and Chile, but we have created a technological platform that would help us start operations in other countries in LATAM very soon.

Would you like to join us in this challenge?

We are looking for new members to help us build from scratch our Data Engineering features around Financial Services.

About the role

Here are some of the things you will be doing on a day-to-day basis in this position:

  • Tackle complex problems regarding a-synchronicity, multiple data flows and more.
  • Deliver a world-class experience to our customers by making a robust, snappy and fun to use app.
  • Work closely with several teams, such as Design, Research, Data Science, or Backend to improve our app.
  • Test app functionalities and troubleshooting.
  • Developing new features and tweak existing ones in a data-driven fashion.
  • Producing simple, maintainable code while always looking to improve on it.
  • Owning your code all the way to production with a continuous delivery pipeline by working closely with our Systems team following a DevOps philosophy.

About you:

  • Fluent English.
  • Solid Android experience.
  • Experience using Git and Github
  • Experience interacting with remote APIs (REST, Protobuf, etc)
  • Ability to write unit and UI tests for your code.
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design.
  • Previously published Google Play app
  • Experience with Reactive programming, e.g. Rx, Kotlin Flow
  • Our applications are built in Kotlin so it is a must to have experience with. The application makes heavy use of webviews, so, while the web apps are developed by other teams, familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS is a plus. Some shared app logic is written in Go, so familiarity with it is also a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a small team.
  • Ability to understand and get involved in product and business decisions.
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.

Benefits:

We’re a company full of happy, motivated people and we never want to change that. Here are some more reasons why to join us:

  • Fully remote or flexible working hours and remote days (we currently work remotely 2 or 3 days per week)
  • Along with the holidays, you will have half a day on your birthday and child's birthday.
  • Fun team and personal development programs.

(The benefits will be different if you are in a city where we have an office Chile/Mexico/Spain)

  • Any additional benefit approved by Lana’s board for your employee tier.
  • All the gear you need - just bring yourself!

Lana is proud of being an equal opportunity workplace. We celebrate diversity and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees regardless of background, gender, religion, orientation, age, or ability.
