The annual base salary for this position ranges from $119,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $267,500.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an outstanding Lead Data Scientist with a strong analytical background to create capabilities and provide insights that improve how we think about physicality in a global workplace ecosystem, elevate user behaviors and patterns within it, and drive methodological innovation. This person is both a leader and collaborator able to function in a high speed and intellectually curious research environment, working within our Research and Insights team in GPS Intelligence. In this role you will transform raw data –blended from multiple global data sources –into meaningful and actionable insights tied to optimizing NIKE’s global physical portfolio.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be collaborating with multi-functional teams in a global environment. Your days and weeks will consistently look different, based on the diversity of your project portfolio. You will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative ways of analyzing physical assets and the effectiveness of the real estate portfolio. Your workload will include analyses tied to utilization patterning, space demand planning, team adjacency modeling, and scenario modeling. This will include driving a global research program tied to Global Places and supporting team priority initiatives.
Additionally, you will effectively communicate and present findings to various internal and external audiences through data storytelling enabling action and informed decision making across the organization. As a Research &Insights team member you will foster and influence new ways of critical thinking and visioning to build and initiate research crafted to influence real estate portfolio decisions across the globe.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
- This role is a key contributor to the Research &Insights team within GPS Intelligence. You will work closely with a team of data engineers, data product managers, data analysts, and other researchers daily.
- This role will help manage both internal and external partnerships and vendor related to data privacy and legal, data management, configuration, and access.
- This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with the GPS Places team who are responsible for design solutions and standards, builds, and global real estate decisions as well as Strategic Occupancy Planning and Portfolio Planning team members across GPS.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Advanced quantitative degree- (PhD preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Social Science, Engineering, Economics or related field) or combination of relevant education, experience and training
- 2+ years of industry experience as a data scientist
- Proficiency in common coding languages (Python, SQL, R)
- Experience working with communication and location network data
- Experience working with financial data
- Experience in machine learning, network modeling, statistical modeling, and algorithm development
- Demonstrated expertise in using Tableau for insight sharing to broad audiences.
- Proven track record of working multi-functionally and critically evaluating sophisticated data from multiple perspectives, including questioning assumptions and validity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, including data ingestion, preprocessing, and cleaning, to developing, deploying predictive models, and extracting actionable insights.
