Who we are
The European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education (the Agency) is an independent and self-governing organisation. We act as a platform for collaboration for the ministries of education in our 31 member countries. We aim to help our member countries improve their educational policy and practice and work towards ensuring more inclusive education systems.

Our working language is English. We also publish some key documents in the languages of our member countries (currently 24 languages).

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced self-employed consultant to support our information dissemination and communication activities. These include editing and producing digital outputs, ensuring accessibility of Agency materials, co‑ordinating translations, web editing, and creating content for digital/social media platforms.

The candidate must be a freelance professional with experience in digital media production. They must be fully proficient in English (native or C2 level) and must have excellent content writing, copy-editing and proof-reading skills, as well as strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with templates and styles in Microsoft Word and with accessibility features in Adobe Acrobat Pro is desirable. Second language skills, knowledge of plain English principles, an awareness of information accessibility and an interest in the inclusive education field would be an advantage. Experience with web analytics tools and SEO is desirable.

Terms
The following terms will apply:

  • Residence: the consultant must be resident within the European Union or an Agency member country. The tasks/services involve remote working.
  • Travel: the Agency’s work is, to a large degree, blended, with online and in-person meetings. Travel will be limited and based upon agreement with the consultant.
  • Agreement period: the engagement will be for 1 year, starting May 2024.
  • Tasks/services: these will be discussed and agreed between the Agency and the consultant. The expected workload is estimated at 2–3 days/week.
  • Remuneration: the consultancy fee will be individually negotiated with the consultant based on the agreed tasks/services.
