What your success will look like

  • Collaborate with the Creative Directors, 3D Artists, and Animators to define the look of our characters by creating a consistent visual direction for the project.
  • Sketch, ideate, and create character concepts based on provided client branding, bridging the gap between multiple styles to create a visually cohesive world.
  • Able to create a style-guide for character turnarounds in addition to poses and expressions (body and facial).
  • Establish clear vision for 3D artists and Animators for minimal back-and-forth, including character turnarounds, reference sheets, and breakdowns as needed.

Who you are and what you bring

    • Ability to sketch, paint, or draw in a variety of artistic styles.
    • Well-developed understanding of anatomy, shape language, personality, and perspective as they relate to character concept creation.
    • Excellent 2D drawing skills with an emphasis on fundamental visual development principles such as composition, color theory, and lighting.
    • Understanding of the real-time development pipeline.
    • Good organization and communication skills.
    • Ability to give and receive feedback professionally and respectfully.
    • Working knowledge of 2D software such as Procreate, Photoshop, or your program of choice.
    • Bonus Storyboard creation
