Join our team...
When our current and potential customers are considering a new venture, we at GoDaddy welcome them on their journey by starting with a name.
As a full-stack engineer on the Search Results team, you will make it easier and more intuitive for customers to find the right name and products/services for their idea. Your work will result in well-factored, reusable, and tested JavaScript code that lasts and adapts to changing needs. You'll use creativity that harnesses your software-creation and collaboration abilities to build new cohesive and fluid product purchase experiences. You'll partner with many teams to run customer-benefitting experiments
You'll be working in JavaScript on the front-end and back-end, with the latest versions of React, Node.js, and Cypress. Our CICD-enabled application takes advantage of GoDaddy's open-source Gasket framework tools &plugins to make development simple and collaborative. (See more GoDaddy open source at godaddy.github.io.) On occasion, we have the opportunity to dive into Akamai or Jenkins, or contribute to other teams' code under GoDaddy's internal open-source model.
What you'll get to do...
- Write efficient, maintainable code primarily in Javascript, validated with unit and integration tests.
- Participate in planning, architecting, implementing, and maintaining our client and server code.
- Review your teammates' code, help define high standards, and look for ways to improve the overall quality of our codebase.
- Own outcomes, releasing high-quality code such that your team's DevOps on-call responsibilities remain light.
- Write, edit and improve our internal documentation.
- Contribute back to Open Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products. Work fearlessly, try new things, and share your failures and successes with the team.
Your experience should ideally include...
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals of core web technologies: JavaScript (ES2015+), CSS3, and HTML5.
- Experience with React
- 7+ years of professional Agile software development experience.
- Understanding of git and git-based workflows.
- Experience with DevOps and understand what deployment means using systems like Jenkins, webpack, docker, AWS, OpenStack, Artifactory and/or Kubernetes.
- Experience managing or contributing to open source is a plus. (Send us a link to your GitHub!)
You might also have...
- Demonstrated love and advocacy of automated testing
- Experience with experimentation systems such as A/B or multivariate testing
We've got your back... Enjoy our many benefits (My Wallet), including paid time off, 401k, equity grants and parental leave. Join one of our employee resource groups (Culture). Continue to have a side hustle, if you have one (we love entrepreneurs, remember?). Most importantly, come as you are and make your own way.
