SourceAudio - remote jobs

SourceAudio was founded by a team of five in 2008 with the goal of using web technologies to help production music creators and distributors connect with content creators and to facilitate music licensing. Essentially, we bridge the gap between the people who use music in media (for example, they edit trailers, commercials, TV shows, radio, movies, video games, etc.) and the people who have the music the first group needs. We now have a network of 1200+ companies using our platform which is built and managed by three developers using a smorgasbord of technologies.  What the job is actually like: To track bugs, we use GitHub issues, and we use Slack for internal communication. We have two support guys who handle customer support and report the vast majority of the bugs. We handle version control with git. All our servers are in Amazon EC2, and we also use S3 and Lambda, so familiarity there is a plus. We're also looking to expand our efforts into Lamda, Docker, and batch processing to support our future efforts. If you have experience with those technologies, please mention it in your cover letter. We practice a loose project management style, that will likely tighten as we add in new developers. At the moment, you'll simply be assigned projects with specs, and we'll get updates from you on your progress and issues a couple of times a week, while you also handle any high-priority bugs that come your way. In between projects, we do our best to clear out the rest of the bug list, then you start a new project. Work hours are very much up for discussion, as the four of us are already spread across the US. You are expected to work a 40-hour work week. We don't believe in crunch, but we do believe in getting your work done. As a full remote position, you'll have a lot of leeway with how you manage your time, but we'd prefer you worked 8-hour days, 5 days a week.
